Trevor is the Managing Consultant of Genesis HR.
After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Psychology Trevor worked for over 17 years in a range of senior Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management roles for the Howard Smith Group of Companies. Howard Smith was a top 50 Australian company with over 10,000 employees spread across industries including engineering, manufacturing, seagoing maritime, towage and salvage, stevedoring, mining, retail hardware, wholesale hardware, safety and electrical products.
In the mid eighties Trevor transferred within the Howard Smith Group to its leading heavy engineering industry manufacturer, A Goninan & Co Limited. Goninan grew to become Australia’s largest railway products manufacturer with a permanent and contract workforce approaching 3000 people. During his employment at Goninan, Trevor was promoted through a number of senior positions in which he led teams of up to 22 specialist HR staff in providing operational and strategic HR Management services to Goninan’s business units. In the late nineties he was promoted into the senior executive position – Corporate Employee Relations Manager in which he provided strategic HR Management services to 16 Goninan business units distributed around Australia and South East Asia.
In the late 90’s, Trevor left his corporate role and established his own Human Resource Management/Organisational Psychology consulting business, Genesis HR. During the last 14 years of consulting practice Trevor has provided advice, training and consulting services to a wide range of organisations spanning manufacturing, engineering, medical services, aged care, education and training, mineral processing, construction, transport, financial services, security, entertainment and mining industries.
Trevor holds Australian national registration as a Psychologist. He holds accreditations in DiSC, the Full Range Leadership Model at MLQ360, Team and Organisational levels and the GeneSys Psychometric Assessment portfolio. He also holds a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and a Certificate in Executive Coaching. He has provided Leadership Coaching and training to leaders from frontline to executive chairman level.
